Power cut & new year
Written on Thursday, January 1, 2009 | back to top

On 30th December 2008, the hardworking TNB decided to change some cables in my neighbourhood...so they cut our electricity supply from 10am to 6pm..frankly, it was quite torturing for us..as we had no where to go, we stayed at home and bared the heat...to while our time away, we sat on the floor playing cards..which caused me to lose quite a large amount of money >< so we waited for the contractor to come..they fixed everything and our electricity supply was finally restored at 7.30.Since it was the contractor's fault, they had to compensate us for the damages..so my television, computer speakers, surge protector, some lightbulbs, apple notebook charger and a few extension sockets were spoiled...they were all carted away to be repaired..so when everything was settled..it was almost 8.30..we were all so famished..dad took us to McD and we all had prosperity burger..=) What a way to spend the new year..but looks like it didnt end there..when we went to my grandfather's house after enjoying some coffee to see fireworks, the road leading up to the house was actually flooded with cars and people..Those people actually left their cars in the middle of the road and were enjoying the fireworks..my dad was pissed because no one would move..After lots of hooting and a few rounds of yelling..we finally made it up to enjoy the fireworks..After such an eventful day, we were all exhausted...
