updates..
Just a quick summary of my week..Uni was having orientation for a week so it kept me rather busy...there are so many students in the business course but i guess it's expected..Classes will begin officially next week..i cant quite say i'm ready for them..after touring my campus, i think i can safely say that i made the right choice in choosing my uni as there is so many facilities that is offered in Monash..hope i'll be able to make the best of it..The senior that was our 'tour guide' for the day reminded me alot of my dear friend Kee Tat, whom i havent seen in awhile...miss the chatting session we always have..although they're sometimes short..Going to the workshops held in the pass few days somehow put some pressure on me...especially how the lecturers keep emphasizing what is expected of us in Monash..and it's definitely not easy...assignments will also be starting soon..and i can safely say i dread them...but all that aside, i do hope i'll have a chance to enjoy my uni life..given the strict parental control i'm under...it's my last year here before i leave for Aus, i do hope i can make the most of it..so now, i can officially say, Denisa has grown up and is finally a university student. Wish me luck! =P

Today is the first day of orientation in Monash University..there were so many people as all the first years had orientation on the same day..needless to say, the business school had the most people..the orientation was rather impressive as they stuck to the time allocation and had many games and activities...the refreshments were also good XD Being in university is really a big eye opener..it's very different from college life..

My last day
Actually, Friday was my last day teaching at TTC...unfortunately, i wont be part of that great family anymore...I was feeling really down on Friday so i didnt blog about it lest i get very emotional..I do hope i'll be given the chance to one day teach again..if i could live my life again, i think i would choose to pursue my dreams...

I'm really sorry..I hope you guys will do well and continue to strive in your studies..if you face any hardship, i'll still be here to help and guide all of you..take care!

I'm really sorry too..I had a great time working with all of you..we had many fun times together and we stood up and watched each others backs..I hope i've carried out all my responsibilities and not left anything for you guys to finish off after me..

Next, i had great fun at frisbee training today..it's been a long time since i've seen El-Ninos so spirited, motivated and united =) guess the 'unexpected circumstances' was a blessing in disguise ;) however it's weird how not many people on a bright sunny day but suddenly everyone pops out like mushrooms on a rainy day..haha..so thanks guys! i had a great time!

Meaningful story - What do teachers make?
The dinner guests were sitting around the table discussing life. One man, a CEO, decided to explain the problem with education. He argued, "What's a kid going to learn from someone who decided his best option in life was to become a teacher?"
He reminded the other dinner guests what they say about teachers: "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach."
To stress his point he said to another guest; "You're a teacher, Bonnie. Be honest. What do you make?"
Bonnie, who had a reputation for honesty and frankness replied, "You want to know what I make? (She paused for a second, and then began...)
"Well, I make kids work harder than they ever thought they could
I make a C+ feel like the Congressional Medal of Honor.
I make kids sit through 40 minutes of class time when their parents can't make them sit for 5 without an I Pod, Game Cube or movie rental.
You want to know what I make?" (She paused again and looked at each and every person at the table.)
I make them apologize and mean it.
I make them have respect and take responsibility for their actions.
I teach them to write and then I make them write. Keyboarding isn't everything.
I make them read, read, read.

I make my students from other countries learn everything they need to know English while preserving their unique cultural identity.

Expectations
Expections....
looking forward, what one expects, probability....One word. Describes the three feelings i have right now...or rather what i've been feeling these past few weeks...Why do humans have expectations? Some expectations are good, like expectations of yourself..they give you strength and motivation to strive harder to reach your goals....But some expectations are hard to handle..as they concern other people..it's hard to have expectations of other people as different people have different reactions to different things and situations..But somehow, i cant help having expectations of you..i know it's not good for me, as not one of them has materialize...I get my hopes up, and i watch them fall everytime...Something's always getting in the way...I try telling myself not to expect anything as i'll just hurt myself...but everyday the feeling just comes naturally..I dont really know how to stop it and havent found a way....Eventually, at the end of the day..i just give up and give in...

My future
Today i went to Monash University for my course advise session...saw quite a few familiar faces...It finally hit me that i'm now a university student..and not long after, i'll enter the working world...Going through it, i realise how fast time is passing...my future has all been planned out but i cant help but wonder what the world has in store for me and what the future holds...it's ironic to be afraid of the future yet eager to explore it..but i guess, where ever my future takes me, i hope my relationship with the ones i hold dear will never change...after all that has happened..i still treasure you guys and if i could start over, i would still choose to have all of you as a part of my life...

Three celebrations...
Aikz, i actually forgot to blog about the three celebrations we had on monday...We celebrated Grace's & Kit Yee's birthday besides Jovan's farewell all on the same day...In the morning, they all went over to Grace's house to give her a surprise she'll never forget...it's a shame i couldnt be there..i heard she was very shocked, surprised and happy...(Grace, you were near tears, so why didnt you cry to show how touched you were?? XD)...after singing her birthday song, cutting the cake etc, they all headed to Red box in pyramid for karaoke session..i joined them a little later...My first time going for a karaoke session..glad it was with a bunch of my good friends...was singing some emo songs..so i got a little worried for jj as he was singing on top of his lungs...later we headed to Jusco to buy ingredients for dinner...then went to Jv's house to cook up a farewell dinner..In between dinner, we had the second surprise...we brought out a cake and started singing the birthday song again..it was actually for Kit Yee..she started singing along until Grace pushed her forward...she looked at the cake and was shocked to realise it was her birthday cake...She looked touched as well..As the cake shop only had 1 candle so they made her pull the candle out of the cake with her teeth..as expected, jj n cheng chun pushed her head into the cake...Lastly, we had Jovan's special baked potato..it was really worth the wait..
I must say it's been a long time since ALL of us were able to gether and just enjoy each other's company..Thank you everyone for a wonderful day..and a very delicious dinner =) I certainly enjoyed myself.. I look forward to more of these special gatherings and will try my best to make it..will upload photos soon once i get them from Grace...

Do you remember how we became friends? It was in Form 2, when you threw a compass at me. Till now i still dont know why you did it. At that time, i think it was to annoy jj....That made me think that you were kinda weird, but Kit Yee told me otherwise. And that's how our journey of friendship began. Through the years, your role in my life changed significantly from being a good friend to being like family, an important person i cant live without. You light up my life and fill my days with laughter. Though we might have drifted apart, i still reminisce all the wonderful times we've spent together. While you're away, the pooh bear you once gave me, that has been sitting on my bedside since, will always remind me of you.Thank you for bringing colour into my life.
